
NT Literary Awards
Administered by the Department of Arts and Museums, the Northern Territory Literary Awards celebrate the achievements of a wide range of emerging Northern Territory writers.
With a prize pool of more than $5000, the awards open on Monday 21 March 2016. Entries close at midnight on Friday 6 May 2016.
Any writer based in the Northern Territory is encouraged to enter in the following categories:
ZipPrint Short Story Award – $1000
An original work of short fiction up to 3000 words
NT Writers’ Centre Poetry Award – $1000
A single poem – up to 300 lines and three entries per person
Charles Darwin University Travel Short Story Award – $500
A short story about travel or travelling up to 3000 words
Charles Darwin University Essay Award – $1000
A referenced academic essay up to 3000 words
Kath Manzie Youth Award – $600
An original work of short fiction or a single poem by a person aged 12 to 18 years. Up to three poetry entries per person with a 300 line limit or a story up to 3000 words
Browns Mart Theatre Award – $1000
A playscript- no word limit
Southern Cross Television Flash Fiction Award – $500
A blog post, fan fiction, short story, fictional diary entry or fictional letter up to 500 words and three entries per person
