ImpriNT 2025

The NT Writers’ Centre publishes content written by our members on our website through our journal ImpriNT. This journal is devoted to providing a publishing platform which can be a way for writers to develop their writing resumes, raise their author profile and broaden their publication history. 

We are looking to showcase 5 authors, whose works will be published through ImpriNT, and distributed online via our website and newsletter. 

This will provide development opportunities and inspiration for our emerging and established writers. The authors selected will receive up to 4 mentoring or editing services up to the value of $600. Both the entry and the final piece will be published side by side alongside their artist profile and that of the mentor they worked with. 

We are looking for writers, emerging or established, that want to develop a piece of work for ImpriNT. All NTWC members will receive an early release copy via email.

You can find your own mentor, or search for one through the internet. Australian Society of Authors, Institute of Professional Editors and Kill Your Darlings have lists of mentors. We also work with mentors that have delivered workshops with the NT Writers’ Centre that you could approach.

Successful applicants will be allocated up to $600 in professional services such as mentoring or editing to develop their work. The mentor will invoice NTWC directly.

Once you have been selected, you will have 4 weeks to develop your work. You must have your mentor selected before you submit your application. Your developed and edited work must be re-submitted via email by midday on 17th Dec 2025 (in time to meet design deadlines for launch in Feb).

The word count limit to fit on the page is:

• 700 word for short story or chapter
• 40 line maximum for poetry, to include all spacing and formatting

ImpriNT will open for submissions on Thursday 4 September, and close at 12pm (ACST) on 28 October on NT Writers’ Centre website.

There will be more details to follow including T&C’s and judging criteria. This opportunity is available to NT Writers’ Centre members. 

ImpriNT 2025 will be launched on Thursday 5 Feb 2026, and all NTWC members will receive an early release copy via email.
