Rachel Barnett has been writing and drawing all of her life… or most of it anyway. She lives on Groote Eylandt, a small island paradise in the Northern Territory, Australia. It is remote, exceptionally far away from everything, but it is a magical place, steeped in culture, history and good people and, my goodness, it is beautiful.
Rachel is a teacher across the small schools on Groote, and really loves her day job. Rachel also loves to write – it is a passion that has stayed with her since childhood. She holds an Arts Degree with majors in Creative Writing and English from Flinders University and loves to draw, paint and design.
Her first illustrated children’s book, ‘There’s a Crocodile on the Golf Course’, was published in February 2017.
