Writing Practice: An Introduction with Sue Fielding
Get going, loosen up and explore new territory through the six ‘rules’ of writing in this workshop Writing Practice – an Introduction with Sue Fielding.
Sue Fielding will guide participants through the 6 ‘rules’ of writing practice developed by US writing teacher and author, Natalie Goldberg (ref. Writing down the Bones and Wild mind- Living the Writers Life). In a supportive and positive environment, participants will practice the ‘rules’ through a series of timed writing exercises. The exercises in each session have a particular focus. These include: voice, place, time, perspective, and character.
There will be ample time for discussion and the sharing of resources. Beginners and experienced writers of any genre are welcome. Bring a pen and notebook to the workshops.
Participants must be able to attend the first session on Saturday 5 September.
The workshops will take place on Saturday mornings from 10am-12:30pm on the following days:

About Sue
Sue Fielding is an Alice Springs-based poet. Her work is published in local and national publications, including Fishtails in the Dust (Ptilotus Press), Metabolism: the Australian Poetry
Members Anthology, Australian Love Poems 2013 and Sotto magazine. She was the Café Poet- in-residence at the Bean Tree cafe in Alice Springs during 2012. Sue has been a member of Ptilotus Press, and the NTWC Central Australian advisory group. In 2019 Sue won the NT Literary Award in poetry. She has an MA (Writing and Literature) and is currently working on a manuscript of poems for publication.
