NT Writers’ Groups

Joining a writers’ group is a great way to set aside dedicated time for writing, connect with fellow writers, and develop your skills. Across the Northern Territory, there are a variety of groups, each offering something a little different.

Best of all, all writers’ groups run by the NT Writers’ Centre are free for members.

An low pressure, emerging/hobby writers group to connect, write and form a community. Meeting monthly from 5:30-7pm on Thursdays.

Wild Words

A monthly event to allow writers to trial some spoken word in front of a friendly audience. It happens on the last Sunday of every month at Saltwater @ Bundilla 3-5pm. Follow Wild Words on Facebook or contact Shaun Green at prefabric8@gmail.com to find out the monthly theme. Entry is FREE

Emerging Writers Group

Want to get writing and meet other writers in Mparntwe/Alice Springs?

The Emerging Writers’ Group is for would-be writers, not-quite writers, and anyone looking for time and space to put words on the page. Each session is guided by a facilitator, who will lead participants through exercises and prompts designed to spark creativity and provide opportunities to share work in a supportive, stimulating environment.

Sessions run on the fourth Thursday of every month at Red Hot Arts, from 5:15–6:30pm.

In early December, we’ll also be offering facilitator training for anyone interested in guiding a session and wanting some tips and tricks to get started.
