Maree Yoelu

Maree McCarthy Yoelu is a Wadjiginy woman from the western Wagait region in the Northern Territory.

Maree is a children’s author. Her first children’s picture book, Brother Moon, was released in March 2020 by Magabala Books. Her second, Bapa’s Last Canoe, was released in October 2025.

Maree lives in Darwin with her family, where she works in radio and continues to write stories connected to her people, culture and life experiences.
