Emerging Writers Group – July

Want to get writing and meet other writers in Mparntwe/ Alice Springs?

The Emerging Writers Group is a place for would-be writers, not-quite writers, and anyone who needs time and space to put words onto the page.

In each session, a facilitator takes writers through a series of exercises and prompts providing the opportunity to create and share work in a supportive and stimulating environment.

This month’s theme is developing cliches to find voice!

When cliches pop up in your writing, sometimes they need to stay to create atmosphere and context. Sometimes they need to be shown the door! We will look at ways to re-write a cliche so that it brings voice, character, place and style. A re-written cliche can really do wonders for your writing!
