Helen Napurrurla Morton

Helen Napurrurla Morton is kirda for Mission Creek jardiwanpa ceremony (a fire ceremony) and kurdungurlu for Janyinpardinya (near Mt Denison). Helen is a bilingual teacher at Willowra. In 2019 she received an award from the Northern Territory Education Department for her forty-four years of service. In 2010 Helen helped with research, direction, and subtitling of the film Yawulyu Wirliyajarrayi-wardingkiki: Ngatijirri, ngapa   Willowra Songlines: budgerigar and rain.  This film was aired on Indigenous Community Television. Helen is a co-author of Yawulyu art and song in Warlpiri women’s ceremony and worked extensively on translating songs and clarifying information in this book.
