Write Here, Write Now Residency Announcement

Congratulations to the recipient of the inaugural Write Here, Write Now residency, Sophie Collins.

Sophie will be writer-in-residence at the Mparntwe/Alice Springs NT Writers Centre office at Red Hot Arts this June.

The call-out was open to NTWC members based in Mparntwe who are working in any genre of writing.

Sophie is an emerging writer who lives and works on Arrernte Country. A lover of storytelling in all its forms, she is currently experimenting with both prose and poetry to explore the rhythms and pattern-magic of human relationships, desert rivers, and cardiorespiratory physiology. She was the winner of the 2022 Andrew Hardy Youth Poetry Award and has work forthcoming in Lavender Review. Sophie will use the residency to work on her first novel.

Sophie will have access to the NTWC office space to use as a studio and support from NTWC to structure her residency.

NTWC was highly impressed by the quality of all the submissions and are thrilled to be supporting Sophie in the development of her manuscript.
