Creative Writing Kickstarter

Have you got a story to tell but not sure how to get started? Ready to start thinking of yourself as a creative writer?! 

This is the first in a free series of workshops designed to support writers of all experience levels  to find their unique voice and develop their craft. Local writer Dave Clark will share a selection of writing prompts designed to kickstart writers’ creative aspirations. With techniques designed to help participants get in touch with their creativity, this is a perfect opportunity for anyone who has been looking to get started in creative writing!

Participants of this workshop are also invited to join Dave’s follow-up workshop – Elevate Your Work. These workshops have been made possible by the Alice Springs Public Library.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR

Dave Clark is a writer-poet with chronic fatigue syndrome, living in Mparntwe (Alice Springs). He works as a counsellor, creating space for stories of significance. He won the 2022 NT Literary Award (Poetry) and performed poetry at the 2023 NT Writers Festival. Dave has works published in Meanjin, Westerly, Red Room Poetry, Bramble, Grieve, Mantissa and Swim Meet Lit among others. He is working on a memoir about grief.
