Manuscript Assessment with Madeline Oliver
Are you a writer seeking guidance or one-on-one mentoring on your manuscript? During her visit to Alice Springs and Tennant Creek, author and writing mentor Madeline Oliver will be offering one-on-one, in-person manuscript assessments of work at any stage of the process. The consultation is intended to develop your work to the next level.
Madeline Oliver is a writing teacher and mentor based in Sydney. She has five years’ experience in manuscript assessment with Laurel Cohn and Associates, reading fiction, memoir and YA. Madeline loves collaborating with other writers and is one of the four writers behind The Painted Sky (Random House 2015), a novel set in outback NSW and published under the pseudonym ‘Alice Campion’ darkandstormynight.com.au

Calling Festival Volunteers
Want to get involved in a festival jam-packed full of great writers discussing some of the key issues facing us today? NT Writers’ Festival, Alice Springs 2019 is currently seeking Festival volunteers.
Volunteering is a great way to meet writers and readers, and to get into the heart of what’s happening. Volunteers are ambassadors for the NT Writers’ Centre: enthusiastic, friendly, helpful and professional. If this sounds like you, get in touch!
Volunteers will be rostered during the four days of the festival, 16 – 19th May, depending on individual availability and our requirements. You can be involved in different areas of event and festival coordination, including but not limited to:
- Box office and front of house
- Venue bump in/bump out
- Artist transport and coordination
- Working behind the bar
- General errands/transportation
Volunteers make the NT Writers’ Festival happen; they are the glue holding all the different parts together. If you volunteer with us for a minimum of 4 hours, we will thank you for your time with a free Festival T-shirt and a complimentary three panel pass to sessions of your choice.

Katherine Writers’ and Readers’ Festival
Write Off! the Katherine Writers’ Festival being run by the Katherine Region of Writers, in partnership with Katherine Regional Arts and with sponsorship from the NTWC, is fast approaching!
In support of the festival, the NTWC will hold two workshops in Katherine over the weekend of June 1-2. One on writing for comedy with Amy Hetherington, and one with playwright Alana Valentine so keep an eye on our website for more news!

Work with Us–Festival Manager
The NT Writers’ Centre is seeking a Festival Manager to work on the NT Writers’ Festival–Alice Springs 2019, May 16-19.
The position is approximately 24hrs per week starting the first week of February 2019 and moving to four/five days for up to six weeks in the lead up to the event. (more…)

imprint is an annual print publication devoted to NT writers and writing, produced by the NT Writers’ Centre. 300 copies are distributed to NT Writers’ Centre members and key partners. This is a targeted and niche opportunity to reach writing and reading loving audiences based primarily in the NT, with a small number interstate.
