Thanks for a great festival in rainy Alice Springs!
It’s a wrap! Heartfelt thanks to the writers & storytellers who participated in the NT Writers’ Festival 2019. Your words resound in the air still. May the conversations shared and connections made sow the seeds of inspiration to bring forth new writing. Thank you to the Arrernte dancers and songmen; the musicians who carried the conversation beyond words; the readers, the interpreters, the facilitators and MCs – you have together made an unforgettable festival.
Thank you so much to all our wonderful partners, sponsors and volunteers who helped make this magical festival happen, especially Northern Territory Government, Australia Council for the Arts, Olive-Pink Botanic-Garden, Alice Springs Town Council, Alice Springs Public Library, Yeperenye Shopping Centre, Red Room Poetry, Institute for Aboriginal Development – IAD, Red Kangaroo Books, Australian Children’s Laureate Foundation, Arid Lands Environment Centre, Alice Springs Airport, Alice Springs Brewing Co, Copyright Agency, Sidewood Estate, The ARC Centre of Excellence for the Dynamics of Language, Karungkarni Art and Culture, Red Hot Arts Central Australia, Mercure Alice Springs Resort, Colemans Printing and ABC Alice Springs.
Last, but certainly not least, thank you to our audiences. Thank you for pre-booking events; for coming out in the pouring rain; for taking a punt on unfamiliar authors and buying books! Thank you being part of it – for clapping, for dancing, for creating a vibrant, receptive and warm community over the four days of the festival. And huge thanks to Milly Moments Photography and Anna Cadden for the photos. You’ll be seeing more over the next few weeks!
