Marie Elena Ellis

Marie Elena Ellis is an Arrernte Warlpiri woman from Amoonguna remote community, 11kms to the east of Mparntwe Alice Springs. A cultural adviser, multi-linguist, educator, scriptwriter and poet, Marie was on the First Nations Advisory Board for Pearson Publishing, the largest publisher of education resources in Australia in 2023. In 2024, she completed a residency at the University of Melbourne’s Publishing Program and was awarded the prestigious Varuna Writing Fellowship to complete her forthcoming manuscript.
