Dr. Chay Brown
Dr. Chay Brown is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Australian National University. Born and raised in Mparntwe/Alice Springs, she has been researching violence against women since 2012 and collaborates closely with Aboriginal women’s groups in the Northern Territory to prevent family violence. Her doctoral research led to the development of a Northern Territory-specific violence prevention framework. Dr. Brown has also led studies on technology-facilitated abuse among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women in regional and remote areas and co-authored Australia’s National Plan to End Violence Against Women and Children 2022-2032. She co-founded Her Story Mparntwe, an organisation focused on ending violence in all forms.
