Barabara Martin Napanangka
Barbara began teaching in 1981 and after graduating from the Batchelor Institute teacher education program became a senior teacher and cultural advisor for the Yuendumu School. Barbara has worked in schools in both Lajamanu and Yuendumu. For over 40 years she has championed Warlpiri language and culture education. For many years she held the position of President of Warlpiri-patu-kurlangu Jaru Inc. an association which supported Warlpiri teachers and Warlpiri language education. Barbara has also been very active in the Warlpiri Education and Training Trust which funds educational projects in Warlpiri communities.
