Anthony Egan

My name is Anthony Jampijinpa Egan I am a Warlpiri man born in Yuendumu, three hours’ drive Northwest of Alice Springs on the edge of the Tanami Desert. I have taught in Yuendumu and Willowra schools since the 1980s, illustrating and writing cultural jukurrpa stories, also translating into English.

Now I work at IAD, reviving stories from the archives. The story I started with, was told by my grandmother, Clara Nakamarra France. This story is about how crow came to be in our jukurrpa stories. Some of my stories reflect fiction and non-fiction to motivate my audience.
