Amelia Kngwarraye Turner

Amelia Kngwarraye Turner is a senior Arrernte Elder, Angangkere (traditional healer) and a local cultural leader across many community organisations and projects for decades. Her poetry is featured in ‘Arelhekenhe Angkentye: Women’s Talk’ and was selected by PEN International to feature in a global showcase of minority language speakers for International Mother Language Day. Amelia is a director for Running Water Community Press  – the first author run co-operative publisher in the world.
