Calling All Writers! 2020 Write a Book in a Day Charity Competition!
Write a Book in a Day is a fun, creative and collaborative competition for students in years 5 to 12 and adult writing groups. Teams of up to ten have just twelve hours to write and illustrate a book from start to finish. To make it even more fun, unique parameters must be included in the story. Digital editions of the completed stories are donated to children in hospitals across Australia. Funds raised through sponsorship go to The Kids’ Cancer Project, a national charity supporting childhood cancer research.
The NT Writers’ Centre will host a team in the Harbour View Plaza conference room, we will provide all the materials to get from start to finish, cover the printing costs so you get a copy of your book to take away and provide support throughout the process with an experienced team leader to help guide you through. And we’ll even through in lots of coffee!
This year we’re looking for a team of 5-10 writers to get involved, so if you’re interested in helping us raise money for charity and you’re an enthusiastic Darwin based writer, then please send through your interest to email@example.com. If you can’t make it on the day perhaps you can support us by donating to our just giving fundraiser page!
When: Saturday 22nd August, starting at 08:00 until finish!
