The Dorothea Mackellar Poetry Awards is Australia’s largest and oldest poetry competition for school students. It has been run by a loyal and hardworking committee in regional NSW since 1984. We’re hoping the competition grows even more this year with close to 7,000 entries in 2019.

This year’s optional theme is “We Used to Live There,” and believe it or not, it was actually chosen last year and before all this 2020 global craziness. Spooky, right?

Students from K-12 are welcome to enter as an individual or with their school with some great prizes on offer!
