Central West Libraries announce the call for entries in the 2017 Banjo Paterson Writing Awards. Sections include Short Story, Poetry, Bush Poetry and Children’s Writing Awards.
Short story must not exceed 3,000 words and the poetry length must not exceed 200 lines, In the Children’s Awards the short story can be a maximum of 1,000 words and the poetry 30 lines, The Children’s Writing Awards are for children aged 16 and under.
Prizes includes $1,000 for the short story winner, $1,000 for the Poetry winner, $500 for the Bush Poetry winner and $200 for the Children’s Award winner. Entry forms can be downloaded from www.cwl.nsw.gov.au. Entries close on Friday 21 April and winners will be publicly announced at the Orange Readers and Writers Festival on Saturday 22nd July at the Hotel Canobolas.
