Charlene Ericson was born and raised in a small country town Mareeba, in Far North Queensland. After completing school Charlene studied office management and tried her hand at several occupations including office administration, a switchboard operator, a filing administrator and after travelling around Europe in her early 20’s she finally found her fit in Radio as a Sales and Marketing Executive in her home town.
Over the last decade, Charlene has worked for a number of radio, TV stations and a leading advertising agency in Queensland and Northern Territory. Her area of expertise has been in copy writing, media buying and strategic marketing campaigns for a great portfolio of big name clients and brands.
Charlene married her partner in 2012 and has 4-year-old identical twin girls. She feels since having children she can relate to others on a new level and has become more in tune with what’s important in life.
Charlene’s career came to a standstill when she was diagnosed with stage 3C Ovarian Cancer in October 2014. She had to move interstate to receive life-saving treatment.
Charlene came back stronger than ever with a new purpose in life. Now a published Author, her book ‘Battle Scars’ she has helped other women understand the importance of awareness and learning the signs and symptoms of the terrible disease.
‘Battle Scars’, a limited edition has been a sell out in a short 4 months. Charlene is currently working on her next installment, ‘Teal Sisters’ expected to come out later in the year which is an extended version of ‘Battle Scars’ and includes stories of other women she has connected with in the last year.
